The LNS has 4 diagnostic departments: Medical Biology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine and Health Protection, as well as 2 national centres: the National Centre of Genetics and the National Centre of Pathology.
In addition to developing analytical and scientific expertise in the prevention, diagnosis and monitoring of human diseases, it acts as a national control and reference laboratory and carries out forensic missions.
